Never proceed in fixing any damage prior to an assessment by the insurance company unless you have a confirmation by the claims department of the company. If a Third Party driver is liable you have to notify his/ her insurance company to assess the damage in order to protect your rights. Ask your insurance company to advise you on how to handle the case.
