Is it the insurer’s fault that my house is underinsured or over-insured?

Generally no!  When you first take out a policy and at every renewal it is your obligation to review the amount of cover the insurer is offering to ensure that it meets your needs and expectations.

 

You should review the level of benefit that you have chosen on a regular basis to make sure that it is sufficient to cover your changing needs. We will call to remind you of the expiry date of your policy and assist you in renewing it promptly.
